This project will construct a second left turn lane from westbound Route 50 (Lee Jackson Memorial Highway) to southbound Waples Mill Road (Route 665). Traffic signal upgrades are also part of the project.
At the intersection, Route 50 averages 56,000 vehicles a day and Waples Mill Road averages up to 32,000.
Estimated Costs
Preliminary Engineering - $404,000
Right of Way Acquisition and Utility Relocation - $103,000
Construction - $1.5 million
Total - $2 million
These costs are subject to change as the project is further developed. This project is funded by part of the concession fee provided under the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project Comprehensive Agreement.
