Recently Completed: Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel (MMMBT) Waterproofing

This project extended the life expectancy of the Northbound I-664 Monitor Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel approach structures for an additional 15 to 20 years past its normal life span.

The Commonwealth Transportation Board awarded a $5.4 million contract to The Truesdell Corporation of Tempe, Arizona, in May 2016 for repairs and waterproofing work.

The waterproofing of the southbound spans of the MMMBT was completed in 2014.

Benefits 

Preventative maintenance included bridge deck overlay and parapet waterproofing to the north approach bridge of the MMMBT.

Major Milestones 

Project was completed in August 2018.
