Under Construction: Route 30 and Route 360 Intersection Improvement
Construction is underway to improve the Route 30 and Route 360 intersection in King William County.
Work began in July 2020 to expand turn lane capacity to enhance safety and reduce delays at the intersection.
The $1.4 million SMART SCALE project will include the construction of a dedicated right, left and through turn lanes for eastbound Route 30 and will modify existing turn lanes on Route 360.
On the Route 30 westbound approach, the pavement will be re-striped with fresh lane markings to create a left turn lane, through travel lane, and right turn lane.
For pedestrians, the project will add crosswalks across Route 30 and Route 360, a pedestrian refuge area on Route 360, and push-button pedestrian crossing signal equipment. Sidewalk will be built along the south side of Route 30.
Crews will be working Mondays through Fridays. All travel lanes will be open during peak morning and afternoon hours on weekdays. Single lane closures will be scheduled during daytime and overnight hours. Periodic weekend work may also be needed.
The intersection improvement project is anticipated to be complete in June 2021.
