Under Construction: Route 17 Southbound Bridge over Dragon Run

This bridge rehabilitation project will improve the condition of the Route 17 southbound bridge over Dragon Run. The project includes improvements to the bridge superstructure and reconstruction of the existing bridge approach on Route 17 southbound. 

The Route 17 bridge over Dragon Run has been identified as structurally deficient, which qualified the rehabilitation project as a candidate project to be funded by the State of Good Repair program. 

Benefits 

When the project is complete the Route 17 southbound bridge over Dragon Run Swamp will have a new superstructure that will be slightly wider. 

Improved approach to bridge on Route 17 southbound. 

Major Milestones 

Mid-way through the project, crews will set steel beams under the deck for structural support. This phase of the project will require brief traffic stops during the overnight hours on Route 17 southbound.
