About the Study
The Virginia Department of Transportation, in partnership with the City of Fredericksburg, is looking at ways to improve the efficiency and safety of the Route 1 corridor from the Falmouth Bridge to Route 3.
Proposed improvements for multiple locations on Route 1 have been developed as part of a study of the corridor. The study is being funded as part of VDOT's Strategically Targeted Affordable Roadway Solutions (STARS) program.
Recommendations have been developed to improve intersections on Route 1 in Fredericksburg at four locations:
• Route 1 and Princess Anne Street
• Route 1 and Fall Hill Avenue
• Route 1 and Augustine Avenue and Powhatan Street
• Multiple intersections on Route 1 between Route 3 interchange and Cowan Boulevard
Public Meeting: Monday, August 27, 2018
VDOT and the City of Fredericksburg invite the public to learn more about the study's recommendations for these intersections at a public information meeting.
The meeting will be held:
