Project at a Glance
Scope of Study/Accomplishments
The Route 460/19 study in Tazewell County evaluated conditions along 4.4 miles of the corridor, including 15 intersections. The study looked at ways to reduce congestion and recommended possible small improvements that would address congestion, access management and safety issues.
The goal of the study was to identify improvements that can be funded through VDOT's SMART SCALE program, created to prioritize transportation projects statewide.
The study was completed in late 2018 and was funded through VDOT's STARS (Strategically Targeted Affordable Roadway Solutions) program.
